Jessie nominated Jennifer Fahrni is Ruth Steiner, a teacher and respected short story writer living in Greenwich Village. Her protégée is Lisa Morrison is portrayed by the talented Avery Crane. The play begins in the fall of 1990 and covers the six years when under the guidance of Ruth, Lisa journeys from insecure student to successful writer. Margulies layers trust, loyalty and mutual need into a complex web of circumstances. The play was Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Original Play, and a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1997.

Directed by film and television veteran Roman Podhora, Artistic Consultant is Leo life time achievement recipient and pioneer of Canadian theatre, Mel Tuck. Set Design by Glenn MacDonald.
